October 17th-18th the 5th annual Battle of the Bay WPA Championships event will be returning to the world renowned Presidio National Park in San Francisco, California. The Battle of the Bay is the largest stand up paddling event in the San Francisco Bay Area. SUP, Prone and OC1 participants will be battling it out in the most picturesque and unique venue in the world. The BOTB will have competitions for both Pro and Open divisions as well as a kids and grom race. If you are a paddling enthusiast, you simply do not want to miss the excitement of the Battle of the Bay!
This is the fifth year for the Battle of the Bay and we are honored that the World Paddle Association has chosen our race to be their final competition of their season. The pro’s will be lining the shores of Crissy Field to compete for $24,000 cash “booty” so expect the world’s top paddlers to be battling it out in the San Francisco Bay for top honors.
The explosion in popularity of Stand Up Paddling has infected the San Francisco Bay Area in a big way and now the local paddling fleet is calling all paddlers to join them in the celebration of paddling in one of the world’s most iconic bodies of water.
The Battle of the Bay is an amazing event in an amazing location. There are not too many SUP races in the world where you can paddle around two iconic landmarks in the same race.
